The Wisdom of Abhay Kumar

Abhay Kumar was the son of King Shrenik and Queen Nanda. He was exceptionally intelligent and served as the chief minister of the powerful Magadha empire. He was deeply devoted to Jain principles, particularly Ahimsa (non-violence).

Once, an enemy king sent King Shrenik a locked wooden box containing a highly venomous snake. The message said: 'Open this if you are brave.' Abhay Kumar stopped the king from opening it. He cleverly figured out the trap and safely neutralized the threat without killing the snake or harming anyone.

Another time, a neighboring king, Chanda Pradyota, plotted to capture King Shrenik. Abhay Kumar uncovered the plot. Instead of launching a bloody war, he used psychological tactics and clever diplomacy to outsmart Pradyota, ultimately capturing him alive without a single drop of blood being shed.

When King Shrenik asked Abhay Kumar how he should punish the captured king, Abhay Kumar said, 'A true king shows mercy. We must treat him with the respect due to a monarch and send him back safely.' This act turned a bitter enemy into a lifelong ally.

Abhay Kumar solved countless mysteries and disputes in the kingdom using his sharp intellect, ensuring that justice was always served alongside compassion.

Eventually, realizing that political life is full of deception and stress, Abhay Kumar asked King Shrenik for permission to renounce the world. He became a Jain monk, applying his brilliant mind entirely to spiritual liberation.
