The Camel with the Bell

A merchant tied a bell around one camel's neck to identify him. The camel grew proud of the sound and began walking apart from the herd.

Other camels warned him, "Stay with us. The bell can guide danger too." But he liked feeling special and wandered alone.

A lion heard the bell from far away and followed it. The camel learned too late that vanity can announce weakness.
