Wisdom Tale
A hungry jackal saw ripe grapes hanging from a vine. He jumped once, twice, and many times, but the grapes remained just beyond his reach.
Tired and embarrassed, he looked around to see if anyone had watched him fail. Then he lifted his nose and said, "Those grapes are probably sour."
He walked away still hungry. The grapes had not changed; only his story about them had changed to protect his pride.
